I am an elementary school teacher who enjoys sewing.  I believe that sewing is a valuable life skill.  Sewing teaches patience and perseverance, and develops a sense of pride and empowerment.  Completing projects can help create a sense of self-reliance and is a skill that can be used throughout life.

During classes I want students to learn how to sew and to enjoy this craft.  I believe it is important to have a good foundation, so students will learn how to sew practicing effective skills.  Being intentional and careful at the start of a project can prevent frustrations later in the project.  It is my hope that students will walk away with projects they can feel proud of and new skills that will empower them.
